Isa 11:1-2.
1-And there shall come forth a rod out of the stem of Jesse, and a Branch shall grow out of his roots:
2-And the spirit of the LORD shall rest upon him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the Lord.
The rod is a personality, it is not a plank of wood. The rod is the word of God, Jesus himself.
John 1:1-3, 14.
1-In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
2-The same was in the beginning with God.
3-All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.
Jesus is the rod and the same rod is the word of God. So, the rod of God is the word of God. But the rod is not just the word of God, it is the processed word of God.
Isaiah 49:1-3.
1-Listen, O isles, unto me; and hearken, ye people, from far; The LORD hath called me from the womb; from the bowels of my mother hath he made mention of my name.
2-And he hath made my mouth like a sharp sword; in the shadow of his hand hath he hid me, and made me a polished shaft; in his quiver hath he hid me;
3-And said unto me, Thou art my servant, O Israel, in whom I will be glorified.
Arrow in the hand of a warrior is called a polished shaft which means a rod that has been processed. So, the rod is the applied revelation of the word of God.
Revelation 12:11.
11-And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.
So, it is not just a word or rod but an applied revelation of the word. If you have a staff, that is if you are born again, it is the applied revelation that gives you victory. When you apply the revelation that you have, the devil cannot withstand you, then you have your victory.
