The covenant of peace is real. Peace like a river is real. God’s kind of peace is real. Peace in your marriage, business, career, and all areas of your life is available and attainable.
There is a path which no fowl knows and which the vulture’s eye has not seen:
Job 28:7.
The vulture and the eagle can see one another from afar, but the Bible says that there are some limitations that they have. Vulture depicts the occultic. Divine peace is available and obtainable, but without God leading you, it will be impossible. The more men try to have peace on their own, the more they fail. Without God, it’s impossible to have peace. No matter your degree or title, you can’t have peace.
Peace I leave with you; my peace I give unto you; not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, nor let it be afraid.
John 14:27.
The word “world” there means cosmos; it is not talking about the earth; it is talking about the system. The world system, led by the devil, cannot give you this kind of peace. They don’t have it, and the most restless being is the devil. The devil is so restless, which is why he is looking for people to join in his restlessness. Every peace that is not based on justice is fake; it won’t last, and that is what the world system does. There is a kind of peace that is superior to all kinds of trouble. There is a kind of peace that is superior to all kinds of challenges. God’s kind of peace is available and obtainable, but until you see it, you cannot become it. Without God’s kind of peace, you cannot be able to understand what God is saying. The voice of that challenging situation is always loud, but the voice of God is powerful. The voice of the enemy always tries to manipulate to silence the voice of God, and that is why you have to know that kind of peace is available and obtainable.
Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor stands in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat of the scornful.
But his delight is in the law of the LORD, and in his law doth he meditate day and night.
And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.
Psalms 1:1-3.
We are trees of righteousness, and we need to walk in the counsel of the godly. Take your permanent residence in doing the will of God; without doing the will of God, you can’t have peace. For us to do this, we must understand the laws of God so that we won’t break them.
Thy seed also had been as the sand, and the offspring of thy bowels like the gravel thereof; his name should not have been cut off nor destroyed from before me.
There is no peace, saith the LORD, unto the wicked.
Isaiah 48:19&22.
Who was lamenting there? God is our creator. The secret to peace like a river is listening to the commandments of God. No matter how it looks, listen to the commandments of God. There is no peace for the wicked; even if the president is the wicked, there is no peace for him. Even if the wicked is the richest person on earth, there is no peace for him. Who are the wicked? He who walks in the counsel of God The word wicked is not talking about witches; it is talking about the rebellious ones. What are the rebellious ones? Sin. What is sin? Sin is rebellion. So any attempt to go against the will of God makes you a wicked person. One billion pastors cannot pray you into peace if you are not doing the will of God. The Bible says this is the confidence that we have that when we pray according to his will, he will answer us. So it is not by praying loud, or we pray for twenty days, but if there is to pray according to his will. We need to understand the laws of God. The Bible says that we are trees of righteousness the planting of the Lord. No tree has a future without light, so when you withdraw light from the tree of righteousness, it is gone. The surest way to destroy a tree is to withdraw light from it; it will die. What, then, is light?
Thy word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path.
The entrance of your words gives light; it gives understanding to the simple.
I opened my mouth and panted, for I longed for your commandments.
Psalms 119:105&130-131.
We need knowledge so that we can live in line with the word of God. As trees of righteousness we need light; without light, we can’t survive, and the light is the word of God. The understanding of the word of God is light. As trees of righteousness, we cannot survive without light. Even in nature, a tree without light dies within twenty days. We need to go for light as trees of righteousness.
My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge; because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me; seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children.
Hosea 4:6.
His people were the citizens of his kingdom. Why is knowledge the problem? Because they rejected knowledge. Their problem was not the unavailability of light or knowledge; the problem was rejection. People have willingly or unwittingly rejected God’s word. They have abandoned the word of God, the laws of God, and the instructions of the manufacturer; no product has a future when it disconnects from the instructions. The laws of God are to groom us and protect the product. So every serious manufacturer puts the law that the product must follow for it to fulfill its destiny. Our problem is not the light or knowledge, but our willingness or manipulation to reject it.
To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the LORD, that he might be glorified.
Isaiah 61:3.
If God plants you, you need light to survive. How do we put structures in place to enjoy peace? Any society that is not governed by the rule of law will collapse. No rule is of use when it is not obeyed. The Bible says God has not given us the spirit of fear but of love, power, and a sound mind. The soundness of our mind is important for us to be able to enjoy all-round peace around us. Peace between you and your children, peace between you and your siblings, peace between you and your husband—you need to understand how to do it.
