Ways through which the devil enters people’s lives By Pst Femi Leke

Number 23:19-20.

This was Balam speaking here; he was paid a huge amount of money and given a contract to curse Israel. How do you curse people? With the tongue. Even God knows the proper use of the tongue. That is why He is not talkative; when He says a word, it will surely come to pass. God is not a man who would lie, nor is He the son of man who should repent. What does it mean to repent? To change. As Balam was to curse the children of Israel, he knew the importance of the word, and so he tried to curse them. God said no. When he insisted that he wanted to go, God opened the eyes of his horses that he was riding to see the angel that was carrying a sword. Why do you think God prevented Balam from cursing the children of Israel? He knew that once the curse was released, it would take a counterdecree to nullify it. The use of our tongue is so important; you are created in the image of God.

Say unto them, As truly as I live, saith the LORD, as ye have spoken in mine ears, so will I do to you:

Your carcasses shall fall in this wilderness, and all that were numbered of you, according to your whole number, from twenty years old and upward, have murmured against me.

Number 14:28-29.

By convention, God already said the children of Israel would dwell in the promised land, and He paid the price when He rescued Moses to do that assignment. He leveled and made sure that everything was in place, but unfortunately, all external factors were grounded, and the main obstacle within them was their tongue. God could not level it on their behalf. It was their responsibility.

What did they say? Remember that every time they encountered challenges, instead of them thinking and saying, If God could deliver us from the slavery of 430 years, He could do this, they kept on saying, You could have left us in Egypt. They kept on using their mouths to pronounce their death, and they died. How did they murmur? They used their mouths and their tongues to say anti-convenant words. God said to move; they were supposed to use a month to get to the promised land, but instead they spent 430 years. Many people are destined to be in the palace now, walking in desolation because the confession of their tongue is not in line with the word of God. The Bible says that we should not speak guileful words, so we should be careful about how we use our tongues.

A man’s belly shall be satisfied with the fruit of his mouth, and with the increase of his lips shall he be filled.

Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.

Proverb 18:20-21.

Whether someone will live or die depends on the use of his tongue. Our words are the building blocks of our world. You cannot speak of poverty and enjoy riches; it is impossible.

And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God.

Mark 11:22.

Have God’s kind of faith because you were created in the image of God, and so everything God did, he did by faith. He says it in his heart and speaks it into existence. Light be, and there was light; everything He said be, He said it inside and spoke it into existence. None of it came into existence until He said the word. You may not be conscious of these rules, but they are a divine law that can never change. The Bible says there was nothing that was made without the word. The Bible says that this is the confidence that we have in him that when we pray, He will answer us. Qualification for answering. Prayer is praying in God’s will, not by weeping. David and all his people cried; the Bible says they cried until they had no strength in them, but did that bring the solution? No. Until they discovered the truth, that is, when they did what was right, then the solution came. What you say is what you become. Everything in life is a product, whether good or bad. Good things are the product of good words, and bad things are the product of bad words. The devil does not have the power to create anything; he wasn’t created in the image of God. The only being that was created in that image is you and I, with the creative ability, but what the devil does is hijack what has been created and divert it. Nothing exists without being spoken out, whether we are conscious of it or not.

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

John 1:1

Use your tongue because your tongue is to create your destiny. Do not speak guileful words to yourself on the platform of comedy. There is power in the tongue; don’t speak negative words into the lives of your children, spouse, or anyone else. If you want to enjoy peace, you must learn how to speak peace into your life because this is a divine law that cannot be changed. You need to be conscious that our words are the building blocks of our world. Even though all-round rest is the plan of God for our lives, the enemy is always looking for a way to sow tares of unrest into our lives because he is a restless being. Do you know why he is restless? When he was pushed down from heaven, what God used to punish him was restlessness, and that is why he is always looking for a place to rest. When a person loses his natural habitat, he will become restless, just as when the devil loses his natural habitat, which is heaven, he loses his rest. So he is always looking for a place to rest, which is why he is looking for human beings to possess because he wants to use them.

The principal way through which the devil enters people’s lives is to use their tongues to sow unrest.

The devil hijacks people’s tongues to speak evil into their own lives without their knowing. Your words matter because they are the building blocks of your world. Mind what you say, know the meaning of the words you are saying, and speak them with a conscientious mindset. Why did God use horses here? Because it is powerful. No matter how powerful you are, if your confession is not in line with the direction of your power, you will use the power to bring yourself down. If you want to turn a horse, how do you do it? You turn the whole body; you control the mouth. The devil is always a strategist; he knows he cannot detain Israel in Egypt anymore, so he hijacked their mouth, even though they are physically out of Egypt. He hijacked their mouth, and they started murmuring, and what they confessed happened to them. How do you tame your tongue? You tame your tongue when you tame your heart. How do you tame your heart? You tame your heart by doing what the Lord told Joshua: In this law, thou shalt meditate day and night. Modify your heart with the word of God. Use the word of God to tame your heart, so you tame your tongue by taming your heart, and you use the word of God to tame your heart, so load the truth in your heart, and you will confess life.

Then Jacob rose and set his sons and his wives upon camels.

And he carried away all his cattle and all his goods, the cattle of his getting, which he had gotten in Padanaram, to go to Isaac, his father, in the land of Canaan.

And Jacob stole away unawares to Laban the Syrian, in that he told him not that he fled.

So he fled with all that he had, and he rose, passed over the river, and set his face toward Mount Gilead.

And it was told to Laban on the third day that Jacob had fled.

And he took his brethren with him and pursued after him for seven days’ journey, and they overtook him in Mount Gilead.

And God came to Laban the Syrian in a dream by night and said to him, Take heed that thou speak not to Jacob either good or bad.

Then Laban overtook Jacob. Now Jacob had pitched his tent in the mount, and Laban with his brethren pitched in the mount of Gilead.

And Laban said to Jacob, What hast thou done, that thou hast stolen away unawares to me and carried away my daughters as captives taken with the sword?

Wherefore didst thou flee away secretly and steal away from me, and didst thou not tell me that I might have sent thee away with mirth and with songs, with tabret, and with harp?

And hast thou not suffered me to kiss my sons and my daughters? Thou hast now done foolishly in so doing.

It is in the power of my hand to do you hurt, but the God of your father spake unto me yesterday, saying, Take heed that thou speak not to Jacob either good or bad.

And now, though thou wouldest need be gone, because thou sore longedst after thy father’s house, yet wherefore hast thou stolen my gods?

And Jacob answered and said to Laban, Because I was afraid, for I said, Perhaps thou wouldest take by force thy daughters from me.

With whomsoever thou findest thy gods, let him not live; before our brethren, discern thou what is thine with me, and take it to thee. Jacob did not know that Rachel had stolen them.

Genesis 31:17-32.

Jacob used his mouth to kill his wife. Jacob lived with his uncle, who also happened to be his master. He found out that he was cheating on him, and he decided to run away when he was tired. Suddenly he picked up his wife and children, and they ran away. The beloved wife (Racheal) stole the idol of her father and hid it. When Laban discovered that Jacob had left, he decided to run after him, but God sent an angel to warn him not to touch Jacob. Laban accused Jacob of stealing his idol, then Jacob tried to prove his innocence and said, Whoever you found with your idol, let him die.  Jacob did not know that it was his beloved wife who stole the idol; he said, Whoever stole this thing, let him die, let him not live. He said it out of emotion. Don’t speak or negotiate when you are angry; you might negotiate your future down the drain. So. Jacob asked Laban to search for his idol, but when it was Rachel’s turn to be searched, she pretended and didn’t allow them to search her.

And it came to pass, when she was in hard labor, that the midwife said to her, Fear not; thou shalt have this son also.

And it came to pass, as her soul was departing (for she died), that she called his name Benoni, but his father called him Benjamin.

And Rachel died and was buried on the way to Ephrath, which is Bethlehem.

Genesis 35:17-19.

Not long after the encounter, she became pregnant, and when she was about to deliver, she labored hard and died after delivery. Remember Jacob saying whoever stole the idol let him die? He killed the wife with his mouth. But Jacob learned his lesson because when Rachel labored and delivered the child, she named him Benoni, meaning son of sorrow. That boy would have lived all his life carrying that stigma, but Jacob changed it to Benjamin, meaning son of my right hand. Watch what you say. Be careful of your words.

Even though the devil knows that you are careful, he still finds a way to sow. A closed mouth is a closed destiny. Just because you are obeying the word of God does not mean the devil will not try you.

The thief comes not but to steal, kill, and destroy; I come that they might have life and that they might have it more abundantly.

John 10:10.

You rise anytime you see any unrest; you don’t watch it because you don’t watch what you don’t want. Rise to condemn it. When the storm came against Jesus and his disciples, what did he do? He rose and rebuked it.

And the dragon was wroth with the woman and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keeps the commandments of God and has the testimony of Jesus Christ.

Rev 12:17.

That you are keeping the commandments doesn’t mean the devil will not hate you. His gnashing of teeth whenever he sees you doing well The Bible says that whoever is born of God overcomes the world; this is the victory that we have.

No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper, and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment, thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and their righteousness is of me, saith the LORD.

Isaiah 54:17.

When you see a tongue that rises against you, you condemn it. Don’t let anyone talk your destiny down.

He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth. He was brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep, before her shearers were dumb, so he opened not his mouth.

Isaiah 53:7.

They could not kill Jesus until he closed his mouth so that he could die for you and me. So don’t be quiet; talk about what you want.

Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us; for it is written, Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree:

That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ and that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.

Galatians 3:13-14.

No matter how long that curse might have lasted, the blood of Jesus is enough to break it down.

Chorus

He is enough for me.

His is enough for me.

The man of cavalry is enough for me.

Jesus is enough for you!
