Relationship levels. By Pst Femi Leke

A vertical relationship is one that exists between you and heaven. It refers to you and heaven. When Jesus said, “Our Father in heaven,” he implied that the link between you and heaven must be maintained.

A decent plan does not imply that it is God’s will. Your vertical relationship is very significant, and it is what decides other relationships, because if your relationship with heaven is not intact, no other relationship will be okay. You can make it up, but it’s not true. The most important relationship you have is with God. Our Father, who art in heaven, hallow be thy name; holy is your name; you are pure, he said.

The second relationship is the one you have with yourself. Are you content with yourself? Some folks are on fire inside. He made a mistake and cannot forgive himself. Do you have a split personality? Make peace with your mind; unite your spirit, soul, and body.

The third type of relationship is between men. This is critical because God is concerned with the three degrees of relationship. Those layers of relationship will remain intact if you are truly righteous.

Psalm 133:1–3.

[1] (David’s Song of Degrees) See how nice and delightful it is for brothers to dwell together in oneness!

[2] It’s like the precious ointment on the head that spilled down over the beard, even Aaron’s beard, and went all the way down to the skirts of his clothes.

[3] As Hermon’s dew, and as Zion’s dew, for there the LORD commanded the blessing, even life for evermore.

He remarked, “Behold, you cannot sit with the next person in church.” He said, “What is the meaning of Brethen?”This scripture was not addressing unbelievers; it was addressing believers. It is possible for people to be in communion but not in unity because of a relationship issue. Without unity in faith, everything is impossible. That is why Peter said, Husband, deal with your wife with wisdom, so that your prayer will not be hindered, because when you disagree with your wife, when you pray, God will not listen.

5:9 (Matthew)

[9] Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be known as God’s offspring.

If you reach to a point when peace disappears, you are not a child of God. Are you at peace with people? The level of your relationship is proof of your Christianity.

Psalms 6:16-19

[16] The LORD despises these six things, and seven are an abomination to him:

[17] With a pompous expression, a deceitful mouth, and hands that shed innocent blood,

[18] A evil fancy in the heart, fast feet in running to wickedness,

[19] A false witness who tells lies, and one who sows strife among brothers

God hates a proud person. You don’t just pray for peace; you have to make room for it. The simplest way to quench the spirit of God anywhere is to cause discord; the Holy Spirit will depart instantly the moment there is discord. God will never dwell where there is discord.

Genesis 1:3–6

[1] God created the heavens and the world in the beginning.

[2] And the ground was formless and empty, and darkness covered the face of the deep, and the Spirit of God moved over the waters.

And God commanded, “Let there be light,” and light appeared.

The earth became void; it became dark; the spirit of God moved upon it, but it remained dark; and God said, Let there be light. Elijah was running until the word came. The earth was void until the word came. Everywhere you see the word of God, everything will be settled. The bible said for Joseph that when the word came, his destiny was changed, even though he was destined to be great; he was destined to occupy the throne, but

9:8 Isaiah

[8] The Lord spoke to Jacob, and it has come to rest on Israel.

The word of God rescued Israel. Don’t run after your uncle, pastor, or anyone else; run after the word. When you see any circumstances in your life, go for it. Challenges are real; problems are real; but more real is our victory in Christ Jesus, but that victory is impossible without the word. I.Q. means high intellect. It is not enough to operate with some wisdom if you don’t have a high I.Q.

1 Cor 12:4–7

[4] There are various gifts, but the same Spirit.

[5] There are differences in administrations, but the Lord is the same.

[6] There are several operations, but it is the same God who operates all of them.

However, the manifestation of the Spirit is given to each individual for his or her personal benefit.

God will love to relate with us one-on-one but his ultimate goal is to relate with us as a nation because one man cannot do everything. That is the reason why he created me and you, so he wants a relationship with his children. You’re called to make a difference. One spirit is important. We are supposed to work together as a team. Look at the teeth; if you have pain in any part, you won’t be able to perform some task with them because they were created for a purpose. We were created to be diverse. We have to acknowledge that we are different. Honor people for who they are; don’t try to be somebody else. When you want somebody to be like you, it’s a problem; what you’re called to do is help them discover their talent and trade with it. Jesus said offenses will come because diversity is our nature. The work of the finger is not the work of the ear, and the work of the nose is not the work of the lips. We are diverse because we have different responsibilities and different abilities to carry them out. You must understand that one.

Matt. 18:6-7

[6] But whomever offends one of these little ones who believe in me, it is better for him to have a millstone hung around his neck and drown in the depths of the sea.

[7] Woe to the world because of offenses! Offenses must undoubtedly happen, but woe to the man who causes the offense!

Jesus said, Whoever goes around causing discord In a proverb, God said he hates a soul that causes discord, but he’s saying the same thing here. Jesus came to give his life for us. When you’re an agent of discord, of chaos, or of messing up relationships, you’re calling for the anger of God. Woe to the man! What is the meaning of woe? curse. This was the same person who said in John 3 that he came down to lay down his life for people, and he still said that the curse is the man that is causing offenses. So if you’re a man who promotes sin, you’re looking for the anger of God, for the judgment of God. If you’re the one who is dividing the body of Christ, God is angry at you. When you get to a place and it is choked or full of offenses, what do you do? Do you promote peace or add to it? Jesus said a curse is that man who causes offense. Do you promote an environment that messes up relationships? Go to any length to promote unity. It means it will cost you, and people will call you names. Yoruba says if a wall is not open, lizards cannot enter because they don’t have the capacity to make a hole. So don’t cause cracks. What did you think would destroy the households of Isaac with all his anointing? Division. Instead of telling the husband to pray for the two children and not cause division among them, she supported the act. Jesus said that a kingdom that is divided against itself cannot stand. Unity at all levels: in the nation, at home, between you and yourself Learning to manage relationships requires a high level of intelligence and skills. Be conscious of the diversity of the people; we are different. Respect people. Identify with people.
