Reasons why divine direction is necessary:
- Divine direction is a birthright of believers: It is your right; you are not supposed to beg for it. Devil will make it to look difficult to get divine direction. Every human being always wants to see into the future, that is why devil is taking advantage of it but the future is in the Word of God. The picture of your future is in the scripture. The bible calls it, the sure word of prophecy. You don’t have to wait for prophet to tell you the future, nothing can be used to compare the encounter with the sure word of prophecy, so it is your birthright.
Romans 8:14.
14-For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.
Allow the word of God to lead you, the Spirit of God will never lead you out of the word of God because the word of God and HolySpirit are one. HolySpirit will never tell you anything that is not in the word of God. If you want to take a step or preach a doctrine and it is not established in the word of God, quickly trash it, it is a glimpse to neutralize the word of God in your life.
- Divine direction is required for you to make it in life and ministry: Without it, you cannot make it, because life is a race and no man will run a race blindfolded. You need to see, for you to make it in life and ministry because it is only God that teaches how to profit.
Isaiah 48:17.
17-Thus saith the Lord, thy Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel; I am the Lord thy God which teacheth thee to profit, which leadeth thee by the way that thou shouldest go.
1 Samuel 30:8.
8-And David enquired at the Lord, saying, shall I pursue after this troop? Shall I overtake them? And he answered him, Pursue: for thou shalt surely overtake them, and without fail recover all.
David enjoyed unlimited victory because of the revelation he had, he knew how to ask God questions, he knew the ways of God. Judas’s problem has a solution which was already given in Luke 22:32, when Jesus prayed for Peter and he said when he has recovered, he should strengthen other brethren. Judas should have run to Peter for a way out and he would have repented and come back to God.
Ezekiel 2:1-2.
1-And he said unto me, Son of man, stand upon thy feet, and I will speak unto thee.
2-And the spirit entered into me when he spake unto me, and set me upon my feet, that I heard him that spake unto me.
So, every time the word of God comes out, the Spirit of the word, goes into action.
- Divine direction is the evidence of divine presence in your life. It is dangerous if you are not hearing from God.
It is the evidence that the divine manifest presence of God is with you. There is the Omnipresence nature of God, mobile presence of God and the manifest presence of God. There is a difference between God in you and God with you, you need God in you to make it to heaven but you need God with you to triumph on earth.
Exodus 33:13-15.
13-Now therefore, I pray thee, if I have found grace in thy sight, shew me now thy way, that I may know thee, that I may find grace in thy sight: and consider that this nation is thy people.
14-And he said, My presence shall go with thee, and I will give thee rest.
15-And he said unto him, If thy presence go not with me, carry us not up hence.
- Divine direction give light in decision making. If you are in the will of God, it will be easy to make decision and you will gain speed easily. This is the time to be led by God.
Exodus 13:21.
21-And the Lord went before them by day in a pillar of a cloud, to lead them the way; and by night in a pillar of fire, to give them light; to go by day and night:
- Divine direction provides cheap victory in battles of life. Battles of life are real but it makes battles so cheap. Don’t rush in taking decision because you don’t have spare life. Live your life to the best, don’t be misguided by people, seek for the mind of God in everything, always make enquiry from God.
2 Samuel 5:18-19.
18-The Philistines also came and spread themselves in the valley of Rephaim.
19-And David enquired of the Lord, saying, shall I go up to the Philistines? wilt thou deliver them into mine hand? And the Lord said unto David, Go up: for I will doubtless deliver the Philistines into thine hand.
- Divine direction enhances a closer walk with God. When you are fond of someone, it will be natural to enjoy benefit from the person. When you engage God in all things at every time, it will help your walk with Him.
Gen 17:1.
1-And when Abram was ninety years old and nine, the Lord appeared to Abram, and said unto him, I am the Almighty God; walk before me, and be thou perfect.
- Divine direction helps you to walk in the strength of God.
Psalms 114:5-7.
5-What ailed thee, O thou sea, that thou fleddest? thou Jordan, that thou wast driven back?
6-Ye mountains, that ye skipped like rams; and ye little hills, like lambs?
7-Tremble, thou earth, at the presence of the Lord, at the presence of the God of Jabob.
When you carry the presence of God, mountain will melt before you without you sweating. The presence of God will only follow you to the place where God has led you to, don’t lead yourself.
- Divine direction is required for accomplishment of life. To accomplish God’s giving purpose, divine direction is required.
- Divine direction is the perfecter of our faith.
Romans 10:17.
17-So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
The word of God is the rhema; the revealed word.
