Religion breeds pretense. By Femi Leke

Genesis 3:1-7:15

This was the story of man’s Fall, and the answer was likewise in the Fall. When the serpent came to the garden, it wreaked havoc by influencing Man’s thoughts to disobey God. But why was God speaking to them? God stated something: that fig leaf suit is just religion, or man was attempting to bring anything opposed to God’s desire. When Jesus arrived, he cursed the fig tree. God keeps his word; God and his word are one. According to the Bible, in the beginning, the word was with God and the word was God. It is impossible for God’s word to fail! If God says yes, it is true. That is why he advised not to swear; let your yes be yes and your no be no, because when God says something, he means it. God stated the seed of a woman would crush the head of the devil’s authority, and because of God’s faithfulness, when he said that word in Genesis 3:15, the word came into action, and along the way, he called the man Abraham, and he made a nation, and he gave a kid from the nation.

Luke 1:26-30

[26] In the sixth month, God sent the angel Gabriel to Nazareth, a city in Galilee.

[27] To a virgin wedded to a man of the family of David named Joseph, and the virgin’s name was Mary.

And the angel entered and said to her, “Hail, you who are highly favored; the Lord is with thee; blessed art thou among women.”

[29] And when she saw him, she was puzzled by his words and pondered what kind of salutation this should be.

And the angel comforted her, saying, “Fear not, Mary; for thou hast found favor with God.”

In Genesis 3:15, God stated to the devil, “You thought you had messed up my plan, or you thought you had messed up mankind’s purpose.” But your joy is fleeting, because the bible states in Luke 1:26, that in 6 months, God said to the devil, the woman who rebelled, that the same woman who gave you access into the garden to try to derail my plan will deliver the consequence. What does the term Mary mean? It denotes revolt. He predicted that the coming uprising would give birth to a seed that would curse the devil’s power. Mary had been a virgin.Luke 1:26

[26] In the sixth month, God sent the angel Gabriel to Nazareth, a city in Galilee.

God said in Genesis 3:15 that a woman would bear a Savior, and one year later, someone who had the word in Genesis 3:15 would say nay. According to some theologians, the time span from Genesis to Revelation is around 4000 years. It’s no surprise that when Philip learned where Jesus came from, he declared that nothing good could come from Nazareth. Whatever it appears to be right now, whatever the circumstances are, whatever the tradition, what God says about you cannot fail because God and his word are one. Is it not true that God says that the generation of the righteous will be mighty?

God is a God of protocol; when he makes a promise, he knows it will be fulfilled. What makes a man sin? Sin is defined as everything that is opposite to God’s will. Sin is defined as any action that goes against God’s will. So God’s will was for them to dominate and enjoy in God’s presence, to display his splendor, and to carry out the task entrusted to them, but they went another step that was contradictory, and that is known as sin.

We discussed the origin of sin last week. Nobody knows a product better than its maker. Nobody wields more power over a product than the producer. Any attempt by the public to undermine the manufacturer’s instructions will have an impact on the product. Who is the creator as a human being? It is God; any attempt to change God’s will or tamper with it by inserting your opinion is referred to be sin. You can’t think evil and live a holy life. Religion has instructed us to go to church five times a week and to pray five times a day; do this and you will commit sin. So we must be able to approach the maker and inquire, “How did you create us?” What is his strategy for us? and how do we live a holy life? You cannot live a clean life if your heart is not clean. You cannot live a moral life. Any form of wickedness stems from the heart. So, in order to live a sanctified life, you must first have a sanctified heart. You cannot work your righteousness by yourself because, like Adam’s suit of fig leaves in the garden, you will be frustrated. This is why religion cannot help you. Religion breeds pretense.

8:6 Psalms

[6] Thou gavest him authority over thy works; thou hast placed all things under his feet:

God’s aim for us is to rule the earth on his behalf.
